I am a dentist-scientist in the interdisciplinary field of Oral Medicine and Dermatology. My research focuses on understanding mucocutaneous autoimmune and inflammatory diseases and identifying potential therapeutic targets. I earned my D.D.S degree from Wuhan University in 2012 and got my dental license to start clinical practice in Oral Medicine, specializing in the clinical diagnosis of complex oral diseases especially those derived from systemic conditions and genetic disorders. In 2017, I earned my Ph.D. degree in Dermatology from Fourth Military Medical University (FMMU) and have been conducting research at CU AMC and UC Davis as the postdoc fellow for the past four years. I have made excellent progress in the research of mucocutaneous diseases and published 10 first- and co-authored peer-reviewed articles including 9 in the esteemed Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Nature Cell Death & Disease, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys, and J Exp Clin Cancer Res. My research contributions have been recognized by both the dental and dermatological research fields. I have been selected as an oral presenter and section Chair at well-recognized international conferences and have been a reviewer for several top journals in my field. I have received the prestigious Joseph Lister Award (global final ten) from International Association for Dental Research (IADR), Basic Research Award from the La Roche-Posay Skin Foundation (one awardee per year), and Skin Fellowship Award from Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership Foundation (one awardee per year).
